Naughty or Nice?

Umm....this picture is funny now, but at the time I was a bit frustrated trying to get Rae to smile sweetly for the camera and instead she would either pull faces like this, or totally sad/ tired faces that looked pretty pitiful. Keep in mind I have never seen her do this face until right then. Where did she see someone doing this? Or is it just child instinct!? Too funny.

I wanted to say Merry Christmas now when I have the chance and before things get super crazy with traveling, family and friends. I'm so grateful for this time of year. I'm grateful to have the gospel in my life and to know that Christ was born and lived and died for me. My life is rich with blessings and love and I know that comes from choosing to live Gospel principals and follow Christs example. I testify that Christ is my Savior, my Lord and Redeemer and I love Him.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Good friends

Last weekend we got to have these great people stay with us.

We had such a good time. They were the greatest guests ever. Easy, up for anything and just happy to be hanging out together. We saw some fun Portland sights, ate lots of good food, drank lots of holiday wassel & stayed up late watching Conan' O Brian episodes. We even through in Burnside skate park and a muddy nature walk:) It was a well needed break for Seth and I. Thanks for the fun weekend guys!

Baby Girl

We found out last week that we are having a girl:) We are both really excited. Once you find out what your having it always feels right for your family ya know. I think it will be fun to have two sisters close in age. We've been talking to Rae about babies and sisters. She's started to say baby and point to my tummy. But then again she says baby and point to Seth's tummy too. So I don't think she gets whats going on quite yet.
I am definitely showing. I haven't taken one belly picture and I don't really want to. I'm already bigger than I was at this point during my first pregnancy, which seriously frightens me. I recently saw a pic of my 9 month belly from last time and I just can't imagine being any bigger than that, but at the rate I'm growing.... ugh. I'm tired and uncomfortable just thinking about it.
Other than the fear of my belly weighing more than the entire rest of my body, I am really looking forward to seeing our new addition.

I love her so much already.

Two baby girls. So awesome.

Trunk or Treat

We are getting ready for our ward "Trunk or Treat" Halloween party tonight! I'm interested to see what Raegan thinks about all the scary festivities. As you can see she will be going as a duck. We got her this costume about a week ago and shes refused to put it on, until we showed her that it looks just like the duck in one of her favorite books "Duck & Goose". I'm happy she like it. Sweet little thing.

Plumper Pumpkin Patch

We are loving this colorful fall season. It's been nice to be somewhere where the seasons change and the air gets cold and cozy. I feel like Halloween has snuck up on us this year. I looked at the calendar and was surprised that it was next weekend. I still haven't picked out a costume for Raegan, but I'm hoping to do that today:) Any good ideas?
We had a good time picking out our pumpkin. Rae was loving her ride in the wagon and running around to all the different pumpkins. There were even pony's the kids could ride on (though it costs $5 and we are being cheap so... no ride for Rae) but it was cool to watch!

These are some of our good friends from dental school. They rule:)

I almost forgot to mention one of the best parts! As we were buying our pumpkin I noticed some Apple cider they make there at the farm and we decided to give it a try. On our way home we opened it to have a little taste.......I don't even know how to describe how good it was. Seth and I thought about going back and buying a gallon of it because we knew our half gallon was about to be guzzled. mmmm so delicious. We've been talking about tyring to make our own somehow, but sadly we haven't:( Maybe we'll give it a go for FHE or something.

Multnomah Falls

Yesterday Seth was able to leave school a little early and take Rae and I to Multnoma Falls with two of our good friends the Brintons who are also in dental school. It was basically gorgeous, because everything here is. I really, really love it here. And the more we explore the area and find new places to see I appreciate it even more. We feel at home here. Which feels good:)

Being close to the waterfall was a bit chilly, but the corn dog and apple cider at the bottom of the hike hit the spot. Weird combo I know, but it was sooo good.

This family picture was not happening for us. Rae was dying to push around some stroller another family had and couldn't think of anything else (as shown).

Good News

We're getting ready for another one of these!

(Raegan on the day she was born)

I'm 13 weeks. Still feeling pretty sick and really...really tired, but also very excited to add another sweet pea to our family. I had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything seems to be healthy. The doctor did and ultra sound which was a pleasant surprise and I was able to see some great shots of the baby. I saw a perfect view of its hands and feet which made me really happy.
Raegan came along with me to the appointment and was freaked out by everything going on. I think seeing me being worked on and having the doctor and nurse around me worried her. She escaped the room at one point and started running out of the office (all while I'm in a hospital gown laying on the table) I think it was the receptionist that brought her back. I was surprised she was so bothered by everything, poor thing. But on a positive note, during the ultra sound the nurse picked Rae up and showed her the baby on the screen and Rae started pointing and clapping.

Thats our good news!

out for a stroll

I love that Raegan is becoming more and more interested in dolls and pretending and all of those fun little girl things. We have been going on walks around our neighborhood, but instead of me strolling her, she wants to stroll her baby. Every now and then she will stop, re-situate her baby doll, give it a kiss, and then continues walking. Its pretty adorable.

Here's a fun clip of Raegan and Seth on the teeter-todder at the park.
I got a little worried there at the end.. haha

Getting Settled

Hi friends. Hi mom:) Things are going well. Seth had his first day of dental school on Monday and everything went smoothly. The house is basically unpacked and organized, I still have pictures and art to hang but other than that its all looking good. We have an awesome ward, with a good group of younger families who are also going to OHSU for dental school. Raegan will start nursery in September and there are a lot of cute kids her age . She's going to love it.

We had about a week before school started to move in/ explore Oregon a little bit. We spent a day at Canon Beach and it was really beautiful. Seth has always talked about taking me there. Its one of his favorite places. We ate some really delicious seafood, walked along the beach and enjoyed each others company.

Yay! A new post! haha

The summer has flown by and we are just two weeks away from moving to Portland. Our move is the topic of conversation between Seth and I about 95% of the time. We are just so excited to get there and start this new chapter of our lives.

This summer we have been in Park City, Wichita Kansas and Oklahoma City. We have a few more days here in Oklahoma before we fly back to Utah for a week to pack up and spend time with family. I've been lucky this year to have my two sister in laws here and my brother in law too. It's been fun having family to spend time with during the summer.

Raegan is becoming more and more energetic and animated. She has become really comfortable in the water. Last week she started ducking under the water (head and all) then popping up fast and clapping for herself! ha ha so funny. I guess those swim lessons finally clicked! On Seth and Jared's day off we decided to do a round of golf. The girls mostly drove the carts, ate snacks and cheered our guys on, but I tried a few holes and I have to say it was really fun.

Well here are a few pictures from our golf day. I have lots of Rae from the summer on our camera, but I'll have to wait to get our computer unpacked to upload them.

Rae is up from her nap! Got to go:)

Lately

Our move was successful and somehow we packed everything up and made it safely to Utah. It feels SO wonderful to be home and with family. Its finally starting to warm up in Park City and everything is in bloom. I know I left paradise, but this is a paradise all of its own. We are getting more and more excited to be settled in Portland. We plan on making that move early August. We found a great place there and I'll be managing the complex that we're living in.

Rae and I have been each others play buddies since we left all our good friends in Laie, miss you guys:( I've been on the hunt for kids her age for her to play with (I think she gets a little tired of my games sometimes!) We are starting a swim class this week and I think she will have a blast. Every time we come across water she charges for it.. pools, lakes at the park, even just puddles, she's wanting to get in. So this will be a good way to get her water fix.

Every day she looks more like a little girl and less like a baby. She says mama, dada, nana, ball and no no no (haha). She loves to walk backwards until she runs into something. She can drink out of a big girl cup (with assistance of coarse) She spins around and her latest trick is putting her foot to her nose. Her personality is just so sweet and quirky and cute. She really makes me laugh.

She's had lots of fun with Nana Jane and Papa Ray. My mom and I took Rae to the Hogle Zoo on Saturday and had a lot of fun. She loved the monkeys, the train ride and the big round water (again the water) statue in the entrance. She played in it for a while and got nice a wet, perfect way to cool off:)

Hanauma Bay

Can you believe we've lived here for three years and this was our first time to Hanauma Bay? Now that we're so close to leaving we are realizing how much we still need to do before we go. The trick is fitting it all in with finals, work and packing everything up and getting ready for the big move.
