Apple Of My Eye
Raegan has been discovering her voice lately and doing all sorts of adorable little coo's and goo's. Which means I've basically had our camera glued to my hand. I made a video montage of all her best moments, but it was way too long to post (not that I didn't try, the site wouldn't let me, sigh...). Anyway so here are two short, but proud mommy moments of Rae blowing spit bubbles and chatting a bit.
Ode To The Pink Felt Heart
A while back when I was still pregnant, Meg brought me over two very delicious lemon cookies wrapped in parchment paper, tied with a blue string and a pink felt heart. I devoured the cookies, tossed the paper and randomly hung the pink heart on a shelf I made for Rae above her changing table. Little did I know it would become a source of entertainment for her while getting her diaper changed a hundred times a day.
For some reason this pink felt heart makes her SO gitty!! It is hilarious. She smiles at it, gets bashful and looks away for a second, then checks to see if its still there and smiles again, then squeezes her fists all tight and waves her hands up and down so fast and starts kicking. It's really cute.
Waimea Beach
On Saturday we were feeling ambitious and decided to head to Waimea with Devin & Shira. I was SO nervous about Rae getting sunburned. I slathered her with sunscreen and made a shady little canopy for her out of her car seat and it worked really well. She still has her pretty baby white skin!
I felt bad because Raegan was getting so hot and sweaty in her seat, so Seth and I decided to walk down the beach where there weren't big waves and stick her toes in the water to cool off a bit. The first time I dipped her feet in she screamed! I don't think she had ever felt anything even remotely cold in her life so it was kind of a shock. We tried it again and she loved it after that. She would watch the water come in and out, it was pretty cute. I have a feeling she will be a big time water baby.
