Drawing a blank

Last week I got three 6x6 canvas panels. I plan on hanging them above Raegans crib because right now the wall is blank. I am really excited to start painting, but I can't decide what to paint. I plan on using all three canvas's next to each other in a row, so I was thinking three....

* fruit (apple, pear, grapes)
* letters A, B, C or maybe x, y, z
* flowers, in three different colored themes
* A butterfly, a bee and a dragonfly
* three different abstract shapes
*Uhmmmm.....that's all I got, see I need help!

I'm just not totally sold on any of these ideas. I need a bit of assistance from all my incredibly creative friends! So pretty please share your brilliance. Come'on give me something good...

Music and PJ's

Seth is taking a piano class this semester. We have a keyboard at home that he practices on and of course Rae loves to be a part of it. Seth will sit her on his lap, turn the "sound effects kit" option on and let her go wild. The sound effects are beyond bizarre; a cow mooing, a man sneezing, coo coo clocks, doors slamming, shoes walking..... It feels like you've entered a mad house!

We bought Rae some new PJ's. They have cute little kittens playing with balls of yarn & names like Daisy, Jenx & Cleo written beneath them. I love getting her in the tub right before bed, dressing her in her cozy PJ's and snuggling until she goes to sleep. Ahhh...Simple joys.

A Smorgasbord Post

There were a few things I felt like posting about, but non of them were overly important or cool or anything so I figured I would just put a few of the random things that have been going on in the past little while.
First of all this picture of Seth & Rae just fills me with joy, mainly because...
A) They are my two favorite people
B) We had a really fun day together & I'm glad we got a good pic so I don't forget it.
C) I really like Rae's polka dot swim suit that my friend kimmy gave her.

Oh and if you're wondering who the women with the crazy colored hair is laying in the floor with Raegan, its me. Yeah. me. I had my hair colored. I imagined it being a really beautiful and subtle strawberry blond. But things don't always turn out the way we imagine them and I am exhibit A. So now I'm walking around like some crazy rocker chick or something. A girl in my ward today told me I reminded her of Pink (the singer) I just looked at her and said "Hum". (she didn't help the situation). I'm in the process of trying to fix it, so give me a few days and Ill post a pic if its not too hideous.

Last but not least. Rae at the beach with Auntie Meg and Uncle Corbin. (I only wish Indie was in on this picture). Corbin is so funny with Rae. He loves to play with her and see how she'll react to things. He got some good smiles out of her that day. Good times.

Arizona anyone?

I've always imagined Seth and I settling in Arizona for some reason. Ive never been there before, and I don't why I want to live there so badly, but I do! I just get a good vibe from it. Perhaps those glowing desert stars are aligning themselves in our behalf because Sethro just landed himself an interview at ASDOH (Arizona school of Dentistry and Oral Health). He leave for AZ on the 22nd and his interview is on Sep. 23rd. I'm REALLY proud of him. He has worked very hard to get to this point and I hope everything go's well. Very exciting. Wish us luck!

Rice Cereal

Rae is such a big girl. This was her first time eating Rice cereal. She was all about it. Loved it. Now she has a bowl before she goes to bed every night. Which means she has a bath every night too. Oh this girl just melts my heart. Such a sweetie.

Welcome Indie Kalea Thomander!

Here is sweet little Indie. She came August 4th weighing 6 lbs 5.2 oz. & 19 inches long. She is so beautiful and so perfect! She was 3 weeks early and surprised us all!















Meg did awesome, I am so proud of her.






















Raegan is very excited to have a friend to play with. Indie was sweet enough to share her cool hospital bed with Rae. I think they really liked each other!

Little Miss Sleepy Head

Raegan hasn't been napping very well lately. She has a hard time falling asleep and then once she does get to sleep, it's for a very short time. So Seth and I have been tying to help her relax, get in the "take a nap" kind of a mood. We'll rub her back, stroke her hair, put calming music on and hold her hand etc. (And for those of you thinking why don't you just leave her there and let her cry it out, it's because if I can get her to fall asleep without having her cry her little eyes out, then I will).

She really likes to hold hands which is so sweet and endearing, but somewhat exhausting when your standing over her crib forever with an aching back. But we recently discovered that if we let her hold our finger for just a couple minutes, then slyly slip in the leg of this adorable doll meg made her, she holds on to it and wala! She sleeps soundly and all is well in the Huish casa!

Then she wakes up feeling like this!!!

And when baby is happy, we are ALL happy.
